We invite you to explore Colombire hamlet, with its amazing location on the ski slopes of Crans-Montana-Aminona in winter, and on the famous Tsittoret stream walking route in summer! If you’re looking for a tailor-made place to experience the pleasures of life in the mountains, this is it!
With easy access for skiers, hikers, walkers or motorists in summer, the hamlet offers a choice of two venues for visitors: the cutting-edge “Alpine meadow” suite, which features the new “Relais de Colombire” (reception, restaurant and terrace); and a cluster of three traditional chalets that forms the ecomuseum, which opened its doors on 1st June 2010. Future plans for the hamlet involve taking down and rebuilding four more traditional chalets, called “mayens’ in Swiss French.
These two very different worlds are separated by a short but symbolic path which visitors are invited to stroll along.
Colombire Hamlet Association is committed to preserving the location’s cultural heritage. To this end, Colombire’s Alpine farming museum has been extended and transformed into an ecomuseum to showcase traditional cattle farming. Visitors are given an informative and visually appealing explanation of the “vertical” farming method that was traditionally necessary to meet the needs of cattle and crops (cattle driving from village to village, living in high-altitude chalets and managing the land).

In Winter, Colombire’s new ecomuseum is open only with a reservation (min. 8 persons). Visits are by means of a guided tour that last about an hour.
The ski slopes of Aminona are opened from December 22th, 2011 until the end of March, 2012. The access to the hamlet is possible for ski, in sled (by the 6 km sledging strip), in snowshoes from Aminona or Barzettes or in sealskin.

From december 20th, the restaurant is open every day from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm and with a reservation (min. 10 persons) in the evening.
